Little League 2020 Season News Update

Date: May 16, 2020
To: All Nottingham Little League Parents, Players and Coaches
From: John Cimino, President

On behalf of the Nottingham Little League Executive Board, I would like to extend our best wishes to all of you.  We hope that this finds everyone safe and most importantly, healthy.
We wanted to reach out and keep you informed to our current situation, our position, and our tentative plans for the 2020 baseball season.
As of now, we are at the mercy of the Covid-19 virus as well as our governmental leaders.  Even though the parks are now opened, other facilities such as athletic fields, tennis courts, skate parks, dog parks, playgrounds and restrooms are closed.  Team sports are prohibited for the time being.
Nottingham Little League’s position is in alignment with Little League International as well as our local district.
As far as the 2020 season is concerned, while we are hoping that conditions will be favorable for us to play as early as middle of June, we do not have a tentative start date as of now. But we have every intention of playing baseball this year. If we can get some sort of a season in this year, we will clearly follow all CDC, State, and local guidelines in order to keep all our families as safe as possible on and off the field.  We will make you aware of these rules as they are developed.
Finally, we are excited that all our players are looking forward to returning this season.  In the event your child cannot return, please contact your managers.  Please respond by Tuesday May 26th   so we can understand your intentions.
We look forward to seeing everyone this season!
Thank you
John
