NLL Summer 2020 Season

Nottingham Little League (NLL) is excited to announce the “restart” of spring with the launching of our Summer 2020 Season!  Our guiding principal in our preparation has been to focus on fun and safety and do everything possible to allow the kids to get back out there to play baseball. We now want to share our plans and safety procedures for this season.

Safety first!
The NLL safety guidelines prepared for this season can be found here. These guidelines are also posted on our website (www.nllnj.org). The guidelines have been put in place based on requirements from the NJ Department of Health. All players, coaches, staff, spectators and any other attendees at the NLL facility must adhere to these guidelines.

Anyone who is not comfortable participating in the Summer 2020 Season, or who does not feel comfortable following these guidelines, should not return for this season.

Summer 2020 Season Plans

Here are some highlights of the plans for this season:

  • Practices to start on June 24th
    • Two weeks of practices will be held at the NLL facility (practices will not take place at NLL after games start).
    • Practice times will be staggered to allow time for teams to leave before the next teams arrive.
  • Games will begin July 8th and run through August 19th. Playoffs will be August 22nd through August 29th.
    • Only games on two fields will be scheduled at one time
    • Majors/Minors/International games will be scheduled on Mon – Fri only (note that weekends could be used for rescheduling of games because of weather or other reasons). T-ball games will be scheduled on weekends only.
    • Mon – Fri games will be scheduled for 5:30pm and 8pm. Weekend games will be spaced out by 3 hours.
    • This will allow time for teams to leave before the next teams arrive.
    • A 2-hour drop-dead time will be employed for all games.
  • Possible league restructuring:
    • Please reach out to your Manager by no later than Sunday June 21st about whether you plan to participate in the summer season. Some changes could be made to teams within a division depending on the number of players who registered for the Spring season but are choosing to not return for this summer.
  • Players not returning for the summer:
    • Any family that has paid for registration in full but declines to play this year will have the following options:
      • Donate your registration to NLL in your family’s name
      • Receive a credit towards next season
      • Refund

We hope to see everyone out on the fields this summer. Thank you to all of our families for your patience and support. If there are any questions, please let your manager know or email us at [email protected].

Thanks!
